The Christmas tree has gone UP

Christmas has come around in a blur of crystals and pearls and gems…  I was designing, making, posting and packing and having a little glass of bubbles from time to time to keep my strength up!

Then I realised I’d had my head down for too long, and I needed to make my house Christmassy as well!  So UP I looked and … there you have it… Bob went off for some strong screws and a pre used branch… and our Christmas tree went UP!

Before you say it… I have spent the last 29 years doing the “mother thing” and putting up the old Kindy decos on the pine “branch” tree!

This is a bit of a leap from there…   Our cat thinks so too ;-)

My goodness isn’t Silver Popular?!!

I have just bought in some amazing sterling silver components, and they cost a fortune!  I always use fabulous pieces and I’m used to paying a bit more for them… I buy as directly as i can to the artisan and am happy to support their villages and their skilled craftsmen… it makes the world go round… and it makes me feel happy when I add them into my designs.

But…  it is becoming ridiculous!  The prices I pay have been reflected in my pieces and therefore cost more to make… this is where I noticed the increase the most…

So I did a little search and asked Mr Google to help me.

Wow!  I hope you see your beautiful silver pieces as an heirloom and an investment…

It makes even more sense to me now to add beautiful components to my designs… I have not marked up my older pieces… they all reflect the cost to me, so buy with love and really enjoy your  pieces of jennymillsjewellery… pass them on …

First impressions of Wine Glass Bay in a Necklace

Have you ever done the beautiful and a little bit challenging walk into Wine Glass Bay?  Can you remember your first impressions as you wandered down the final bit of the track and saw the pristine Wine Glass Bay for the very first time?!

I saw a magnificent white beach with only one other couple on the beach… they had a tripod and long lens camera and were too enthralled with the magic of this experience to even look through the lense in case they lost the moment.

There were dolphins playing in the small rolling waves about 30 meters away… they were playful and had little ones in their pod.

There were no footprints on the beach at 10 o’clock in the morning!

The sun was low and bright and the sky was clear and blue.

The gentle waves  were rolling blue tubes with the whitest edges, and the low morning sun just made the water droplets glint and gleam as our little bit of the Tasman Sea sprayed against the azure sky before reaching the squeaky white sand…

Yes that does sound too good to be true, but did you see it too?

Remember that moment in time when you wear this Wine glass Bay Necklace, see the chain become a rolling glistening wave around your neck and recall this day often…

My new and very fresh website has been built

I am so excited about my new website…
I have loved my old site for four years… I loved the dark intrigue and the cosy feel of it!  I have never loved the way you sometimes struggled to find what you wanted though… not so easy to navigate and somewhat overcomplicated at times.     Some of you also had trouble with the check out process.

Well…

Not any more!  I have been listening to your suggestions and other feedback.

I have been lucky enough to meet a great young web designer and developer… Dominic Whittle… who has performed some kind of magic on my new site!!!

A cute preview from his blog is an indicator of how much fun this project has been!

The brief was….  fresh and fun to visit, but VERY easy to navigate very safe to actually shop in…

I will be promoting this new site with some opportunities for you in the near future, so stay posted!
